2012 Preliminary LHA Event Schedule

April 21, 2012          "Honoring Friends and Moving Forward"
                                        LHA Spring Social and Banquet

Matterhorn Inn, West Dover, Vermont.  A day of fellowship and camaraderie for LHA members and non-members alike. Daytime activities begin at 10am; social and banquet begins at 6:30pm, following a 5:30 cocktail hour.  Banquet pricing TBD.  Special room rates are available for attendees.

June 23, 24     26th Annual Time Line Event

Howe Field, Wilmington, Vermont.  A full encampment and living history display and demonstration event. Saturday evening meal provided for participating reenactors, normal camping and campfires on the grounds, and all normal amenities are provided. $20.00 sutler registration fee – no other registration fees required.

July 7, 8     Revolutionary War Battle of Hubbardton Commemoration

Hubbardton Battlefield State Park, Hubbardton, Vermont.  Sponsored by the Vermont Division for Historic Preservation, The Hubbardton Historical Society, and the LHA. For applications contact Living History Association, The LHA Department of Revolutionary War Interpretation c/o David Bernier Sr., 178 Glendale Road, Southampton, MA 01073 (413) 527-4470. Original battle site. Full amenities, 4-8 sutlers, food stand, visitor center, interpretive walks, full 18th century camps, ample parking, both infantry and artillery demonstrations, scripted and unscripted battles.

 

Date TBD     Revolutionary War Soldiers on the Mount Commemoration

Mount Independence State Historic Site, Orwell, Vermont. Sponsored by the Vermont Division for Historic Preservation, The Friends of Mount Independence, and the LHA. For applications contact Living History Association, The LHA Department of Revolutionary War Interpretation c/o David Bernier Sr., 178 Glendale Road, Southampton, MA 01073 (413) 527-4470. Original encampment site for 13,000 American forces from late 1775-June 1777 and about 600 Crown Forces June 1777-Nov. 1777. Full amenities, 4-5 sutlers, food stand, visitor center, interpretive walks, full 18th century camps, ample parking, both infantry and artillery demonstrations, great event site for engineers, scripted and unscripted battles.


July 27-29     Ancient Arts Muster

Hosting everything from fife & drum corp, bagpipe bands, crafts people, food vendors, a time line of reenactors, antique vehicles, Native Americans, museum exhibits and more.  For additional information please contact: Living History Association, P.O. August 11, 12     Revolutionary War Living History Demonstration Weekend 
                        at the General Henry Knox Mansion

Thomaston, ME. Sponsored by the Friends of the Mansion and the LHA. Original Knox Mansion, full 18th century camps, great scenery and great hospitality by the site. Both artillery and Infantry demonstrations.

 

August 18, 19     Battle of Bennington Commemorative Event

Bennington Battle Monument, Monument Avenue, Old Bennington, Vermont. Sponsored by the Vermont Division for Historic Preservation, Friends of the Bennington Battle Monument, and the LHA. October     LHA General Membership Meeting [Date TBD]

This is where the membership of the LHA meets to make policy and nominate candidates for election to the Board of Directors. Many departments, committees, and units hold their yearly meetings at this time. Meeting Location – Matterhorn Inn, West Dover, VT
