June 7-8     Bring Back the Battery Celebration—Brandon, VT

2nd Battery Vermont Light Artillery is hosting a two-day living history encampment on the grounds of the Brandon Inn. The event will include a full encampment of soldiers and civilians of the Civil War era, with weapons firing and tactical demonstrations, historical displays, music, lectures, fashion show, sales booths, and gala banquet on Saturday night with entertainment inside the fine Victorian dinning facilities of the Brandon Inn.

June 14-15     Ethan Allen Days—Manchester, VT

A full 18th century encampment on Hildene's Meadowlands on River Road on Manchester, Vermont, will commemorate the exploits of Ethan Allen, the Green Mountain Boys and the times in which they lived.  There will be full military camps, craft demonstrations, musket and cannon fire with a Saturday tactical demonstration at 2:00 pm, a 9:00 am period church service Sunday followed by another tactical demonstration at 1:00 pm.  Camps will be open on Saturday from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm and Sunday 10:00 am to 3:00 pm.  Located on Hildene's Meadowlands on River Road in Manchester, Vermont. July 5-6     Battle of Hubbardton Observances at the Hubbardton Battlefield, Exit 6 on VT Route 4 (Castleton exit)—Hubbardton, VT

This original site will host reenactors for a great memorial event.  Camps will open on Saturday at 10:30 am and close at 7:00 pm with all manner of camp life, craft and military demonstrations, 2:00 pm artillery demonstration, 3:00 pm tactical demonstration and 6:30 pm memorial service.  Merchants selling period and nostalgic wares will be on site as well as food concessions and many historical displays in the visitor center museum.

A Sunday recreation of the battle is planned for 8:00 am to 10:00 am with a smaller demonstration at 12:30 pm for late arrivals.  Camps will close by 2:15 pm on Sunday.  A $5.00 admissions fee will be charged.  Voted a "Top Ten Summer Event" by the Vermont State Chamber of Commerce in 1994. July 12-13     Annual Living History Time Line—Wilmington, VT

This 22nd Annual International Time Line provides a wonderful opportunity to look at the progression of history from Ancient Rome through the conflicts of the 20th century (depending on units attending). Demonstrations of the weapons of war from the sword to the machine gun and displays of life in camp and on the home fronts of history are featured. This is an excellent time for people interested in the recreational and educational benefits of reenacting to look at the broad spectrum of this exciting hobby and educational resource. This is also a great membership generator for the participating units.  Held at Howe Field in Wilmington, Vermont.  For more information contact: Living History Association.

July 19-20     Soldiers on the Mount Commemorative Event at Mount Independence State Historic Site—Orwell, Vermont

A Revolutionary War encampment. This event honors the soldiers who built and posted guard in this large military post from 1775 to June of 1777 thereby thwarting a British invasion down Lake Champlain. The garrison suffered a variety of privations from a lack of food and shelter resulting in many deaths. The site has an extensive museum open from 9:30 am to 5:00 pm daily.  This event will host reenactors in two full military camps open from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm Saturday and from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm on Sunday. The camps will portray camp life styles, infantry drill, craft, engineering, artillery, and medical demonstrations, as well as site tours.  Saturday will feature a 1:30 pm reading of the Declaration of Independence and a 3:30 pm tactical demonstration. Sunday will repeat the tactical demonstration at 1:00 pm, with camps closing at around 2:30 pm. A small admissions fee is charged. July 26-27     Hildene Civil War Days—Manchester, Vermont

Held at Robert Todd Lincoln's Historic Hildene on Historic Route 7A in Manchester, Vermont. 

Union and Confederate troop encampments as well as drill. Demonstrations of camp life and authentic venders. Civilian and military artifacts and reproductions on display. Infantry, cavalry, and artillery demonstrations will be held.
